On March 20, Mr. Akamatsu, Consul General and Ambassador of the Consulate-General of Japan in Shanghai, visited our group company, Jiangsu Chanden Steel Sheet Processing Co. This visit was made possible by a request from the Japanese Association of Jiangyin for the Consul General to inspect a Japanese company during his first visit to Jiangyin.

On the day of the visit, an overview of the company was given, including the background of the company's establishment and differences from other coil centers. The tour was followed by a factory tour, where Consul General Akamatsu showed great interest in working with packing machines, press machines, etc., and listened intently to the explanations of General Manager Endo and Factory Manager Akazawa. He also expressed interest in the relationship between Japanese companies and the local government, making the tour a very lively one. The inspection tour was conducted in a friendly atmosphere from start to finish, and Consul General Akamatsu complimented us on the cleanliness of the factory and the energy of the staff.

According to Mr. Chihara, who was in charge of the visit, he made some efforts to ensure that the visit went smoothly, such as adjusting the breaks at the factory so that Consul General Akamatsu could see more of the factory's operations during the visit. He also said that the Q&A session was more lively than he had expected, and he was a little nervous that the Consul General's schedule would be pushed back. When we asked him how he felt about the event, he replied, "I am glad it ended without incident. I never thought that the Consul General would actually come.
