JFE Group exhibited at the WIND EXPO Wind Power Generation Exhibition held at Tokyo Big Sight for three days from February 28.
The JFE Group is working on the offshore wind power generation business as one of its major measures to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Eight JFE Group companies exhibited at the exhibition, introducing the JFE Group's initiatives in five areas: materials, basic structures, construction, O&M (operation and maintenance), and supply chain. In particular, JFE Steel promoted J-TerraPlate™, a large single heavy steel sheet ideal for manufacturing monopiles for offshore wind turbines, and JFE Engineering promoted its new Kasaoka Monopile Manufacturing Plant, the first plant in Japan capable of mass producing monopile foundations for offshore wind turbines, located in Kasaoka City, Okayama Prefecture.
JFE Engineering is focusing on optimizing the execution of offshore wind power projects by utilizing its domestic and overseas networks to match the needs of power generation companies seeking a ripple effect on the local economy with the needs of Japan's proud potential suppliers to enter the offshore wind power industry.
