On February 20, 22 volunteer employees of the Osaka Branch of the JFE Shoji Group participated in the "Osaka Marathon 'Clean UP' Operation" held by the Dojima Avanza, where the Osaka Branch is located. This event is held every year to welcome the participants of the Osaka Marathon, which will be held on February 25, in a "clean town" from all over Japan.
Despite the unstable weather and freezing cold weather on the day of the event, 122 employees from companies that reside in the Dojima Avanza gathered in front of the main entrance on the west side of the Avanza at 4:00 pm. Using special garbage bags distributed by Osaka City, participants cleaned up the open space of Avanza and surrounding streets for about 30 minutes, picking up a total of 9.5 kg of garbage (7.7 kg of combustible garbage, 1.4 kg of non-combustible garbage, and 0.4 kg of other garbage). It was a new experience for the participants to realize that the streets they usually commute to work are unexpectedly full of garbage, and it strengthened their awareness of the importance of using the city clean.
　The JFE Shoji Group will continue to promote social contribution activities, such as this cleanup, as a unified group.
