JFE Group exhibited at "eco-pro 2023" held at Tokyo Big Sight from December 6 to 8, 2011. The exhibition is an opportunity for exhibitors to promote their SDGs initiatives, including solutions and technologies for solving environmental and other social issues, to students and companies.
JFE Shoji Trade used wall panels to explain to visitors about the company's Biomass Fuels Department and offshore wind power generation, an initiative of the JFE Group as a whole. In the area of biomass fuels, JFE Shoji exhibited actual biomass fuels that are rarely seen, such as palm hulls, which are conventionally disposed of, and wood pellets made from thinned wood generated in the forest growing process and offcuts from lumber mills and other sources. In the offshore wind power generation exhibit, a model of a windmill that visitors could fan with a fan to experience power generation was used to have fun while learning about the JFE Group's offshore wind power generation. Each panel had a quiz, and visitors who answered the questions received novelties such as a clear file created to commemorate the airing of the JFE Group's commercial.
The JFE Group's booth attracted 3,323 visitors over the three days, nearly 70% of whom were elementary to university students. Many visitors commented that they recognized the company from its commercials, indicating that the Sandwich Man's commercials, which have been aired on TV since the end of the year before last, have increased the recognition of the JFE Group.
