As part of its social contribution activities, the JFE Shoji Group has been offering calendar and Christmas card inspection, sealing, and packaging services for on-campus training at Tokyo Metropolitan Eifuku Gakuen, a special needs school located in Suginami Ward, Tokyo, since fiscal 2020. This training program is integrated into the school's timetable three days a week, with all-day work from 1st to 7th period on Mondays and Fridays, and morning work on Wednesdays. This year, about 15 students are in charge of more than 20,000 calendars, which will be delivered to our group's suppliers in two months.
One of the students said, "When folding the boxes that hold the calendars, we are very careful not to produce any defective calendars, because if even one of the boxes is broken, it will not be usable. The teacher said, "The students who could only roll 50 calendars on the first day are now able to roll 100 or 200 calendars as they get used to it," and said how the students are definitely making progress.
We will continue to support education for children in order to create a sustainable society of co-existence and co-prosperity toward the achievement of the SDG slogan, "No one is left behind.
