Social Contribution Activities] Donation of Canned Food and Learning Supplies to Nigeria and Ghana
As part of its social contribution activities, JFE Shoji Trade Corporation and its group company Kawasho Foods Corporation donated 12,500 cans of pickled mackerel tomatoes, 435 sets of desks and chairs, and 17,000 notebooks to 15 schools in Nigeria and Ghana. This is the 13th time for this annual "food" and "education" support activity.
The donation ceremony held on December 6 in Nigeria was covered by local newspapers and local TV news and attracted much attention. The ceremony was attended by about 30 people including Mr. Kotaro Murata, General Manager of Middle East Kawasho Foods, Mr. Femi Majekodunmi, Secretary of the Ministry of Education, about 125 school teachers and students, and about 15 members of the media. He also expressed his hope and joy that the donated goods would help the students' growth and improve their learning.
Kawasho Foods and GEISHA Foods have been collaborating since 2011, the 100th anniversary of the GEISHA brand, and have started supporting food and education together. After confirming local requests, we select locally manufactured products and GEISHA brand canned pickled mackerel tomatoes as donated items to help economic activities in both countries.
We will continue to support "food" and "education" so that the GEISHA brand will be loved for many years to come and contribute to the healthy growth of children and the creation of an affluent society.
