JFE Shoji Service participated in "WFP Walk the World Osaka"!
On May 27, General Manager Kitajima of the Western Steel Division and General Manager Hagiwara of the Osaka Plate Division participated in the "WFP Walk the World Osaka" held at Expo '70 Commemorative Park. WFP Walk the World is an annual charity walk held by the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in Yokohama, Osaka, and Nagoya to help end hunger among children in developing countries. This year's event attracted 1,452 participants. A total of 1,123,860 yen was donated from the participation fee, excluding expenses.
General Manager Kitajima was interested in this event after hearing about the world hunger problem from a business partner who works on food loss issues. When he invited Mr. Hagiwara, who enjoys walking, to join the event, he agreed with the purpose of the event and they both signed up to participate. The day of the event, the temperature was a balmy 26.9 degrees Celsius and the sun was not too strong, making the conditions perfect for walking. The two, who are physically active on a regular basis, completed the 10-km walk with ease.
General Manager Kitajima said, "The Osaka Branch Office is also actively involved in social contribution activities, and we want to enliven the entire company! General Manager Kitajima expressed his enthusiasm for the future.
