On April 16, 13 JFE Shoji Group employees participated in the "Kasumigaura Marathon and International Blind Marathon 2023" held in Tsuchiura City, Ibaraki Prefecture, as corporate volunteers.

The JFE Shoji Group has been a corporate volunteer since 2015, and this was the seventh time for us to participate in the marathon. This was the seventh time for the volunteers to participate in the event. This year's event, in which activity restrictions due to the Corona disaster were eased, attracted a large number of participants (over 14,000 runners).

On the day of the race, the volunteers mainly operated water stations in the finish area, guided runners around the race site, and assisted with commemorative photos of runners. The cloudy weather at the start of the race turned into clear skies and the temperature rose sharply, and the water stations were crowded with runners seeking water. Employees who participated in the event commented, "I couldn't even take a break, but the words of appreciation from the runners encouraged me to keep going until the end," and "I felt a sense of accomplishment from being able to communicate with so many runners over a glass of water.
