Mizushima Steel Sheet Industry visited a junior high school in Kurashiki City and held a "Corporate Learning Rakusha Lecture"!
On January 25, Mizushima Steel Sheet Industries, a member of the JFE Shoji Group, visited Shinden Junior High School in Kurashiki City to conduct the "Kigyo Gakushu Rakusha Lecture," a Kurashiki City career education promotion project. The course was started to replace the work experience (Challenge Work) that had been an established curriculum for second-year junior high school students in Kurashiki City, and this was the third time Mizushima Steel Sheet Industry participated in the program.
Young employees who have been with the company for less than three years explained to the 52 second-year junior high school students about the company's business, the common greeting "Be safe," and safety protective equipment essential for safe work. Later, hands-on activities using measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers, which are necessary to assure quality, were also conducted. During the question-and-answer session, junior high school students asked, "What was the most difficult part of your job?" In response to a junior high school student's question, a second-year employee said, "When I was a student, I used to just roughly approximate this much, but at work, we are required to measure in millimeters and even down to 1 mm or less, and it was hard to get used to at first. Now I am able to do it well," he replied emphatically.
We will continue to participate in the program in FY2023 and beyond to help junior high school students understand their jobs and revitalize the local community.
