JFE Shoji Trade Corporation is currently renovating its head office (Otemachi Financial City North Tower, 25th to 27th floors) as part of its "Workplace Reform" initiative to promote more active internal communication and to accommodate diverse work styles, including telecommuting.

At the end of December last year, the IT Planning Department, the Technology Management Department, and JFE Shoji Trade Business Support Corporation, a group company, which had been housed in the Otemachi Building, moved to the 25th floor of the head office building, and the office layout was changed. As of January 20, 2023, when this article is published, the renovation of the 25th floor is almost complete.

In addition to the introduction of a free address system for each headquarters, the office renewal this time will also aim to revitalize communication that transcends organizational boundaries by replacing the uniform desk layout that has been fixed for each department with a seating layout that allows employees to interact with each other by randomly arranging various types of desks. We will work to revitalize communication that transcends organizational boundaries.

In order to shorten the distance between department managers and department employees and promote communication, the department manager's seat, which was located near the window, has been eliminated and integrated into the seat in the office area. In the vacant window space, new individual seats and meeting booths were created for employees to concentrate on creating documents, etc. In addition, a refreshment corner with green and wood-grained fixtures was installed to allow employees to relax and communicate with each other.

By revamping the office environment in this way to revitalize communication across the organization, we aim to generate new ideas and achieve further development. We will continue to renovate other floors of our head office and plan to implement this project for all of our offices nationwide in the future.
