The exhibition introduced the JFE Group's efforts to realize a recycling-oriented society to people of all ages, focusing on the highly recyclable nature of steel and the effective use of by-products of the steelmaking process.
This year, for the first time, we exhibited and introduced our "Scouring Prevention Materials" under the theme of "Steel Slag Useful in the Sea.
Scour is a phenomenon in which waves and currents scour the seafloor around monopiles, which are the foundation of an implantable offshore wind turbine, and damage the stability of the foundation. To solve this problem, MHI is contributing to the development of the offshore wind power generation industry by manufacturing, stocking, and supplying scour prevention materials that utilize natural stone and Frontier Rock®, an engineered stone manufactured by JFE Steel Corporation.

Visitors to the booth commented, "I learned for the first time that steel slag is used in the ocean," and "I knew about offshore wind power, but I didn't know about anti-scour material.
The JFE Group will continue to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society by providing high-quality steel products and engineering technology-based products and solutions that support social infrastructure.
