Mr. Ashish from J-Shoji in India spoke at a conference hosted by "BigMint", a steel industry magazine!
Mr. Ashish from JFE Shoji Trade Corporation in India participated as a presenter and panelist at the conference "BigMint India Ferrous Week 2025" hosted by the Indian steel industry magazine "BigMint". This event, one of the most high-profile conferences in the Indian steel industry, was held August 19-21 at the JW Marriott Hotel in Kolkata.
Under the theme "The Predicament of Imported Scrap," more than 800 industry professionals involved in ferrous materials such as iron ore, pellets, DRI (direct reduced iron), scrap, steel products, and coal gathered for a lively discussion.
In his presentation, Mr. Ashish gave an overview of JFE Shoji Trade Corporation, the shift to electric furnaces in Japan and the potential for scrap exports, and current trends in scrap imports to India, including Japan. In the panel discussion, Mr. Ashish expressed his opinions on topics such as the differences in procurement routes between India and Bangladesh, and whether Japan can be a stable supply source for steel mills on the east coast of India.
The opportunity to speak at this event was made possible by the high regard in the industry for JFE Shoji Group's expansion of scrap sales from Japan and other exporting countries, as well as by the trust Ashish has built with "BigMint" magazine over 15 years of exchanging information with the magazine.
After taking the stage, Ashish said, "This was a rare opportunity to share JFE Shoji Group's growth story in India and its future prospects directly with industry leaders. It was a great honor to be the only Japanese trading company to take the stage as a speaker and panelist. We will continue our efforts to expand our business in India." said Mr. Kato.
