JFE Shoji Trade Union held a Family Day!
On August 20, JFE Shoji Trade held its 12th Family Day at its head office in Otemachi, Tokyo, with a total of 81 participants, including employees working at the head office and their families. The purpose of this activity is to deepen mutual understanding between families and the company and to create a comfortable workplace atmosphere.
The day consisted of two parts: a "program for children" and a "visit to the boardroom and office tour.
In the first part, a slide presentation of a day in the life of an employee was shown! It's my mom! The first part of the tour was a slide presentation of a day in the life of an employee, which was a lot of fun for the participants, who could see a different side of their mothers and fathers than they usually see at home. In the quiz corner about iron, children raised their hands in high spirits and were delighted when the correct answers were announced, making the event very lively.
The second part of the event started with a speech by President Grandmotherly. During his introduction of the company, he talked about its overseas bases and commented, "Maybe someday your mother or father will work overseas," at which point the younger children started to clamor. The President's response, "You must be surprised that I suddenly talked about working overseas," to the employees who were apologetic for interrupting the conversation, instantly put the audience in a friendly mood.
After the commemorative photo session with President Grandmotherly, the annual visit to the boardroom and business card exchange took place. The adults watched with smiles as the children nervously offered their own business cards and looked happily at the cards they received, despite being nervous about exchanging business cards for the first time.
During the office tour, each family went around the office collecting stamps placed throughout the office and interacting with employees.
The children who participated in the event were full of smiles, commenting that it was good to see where their mothers usually work, that they learned that steel is used in various places, and that they were happy to receive business cards with their names on them.
The JFE Shoji Group will continue to promote the creation of a comfortable workplace atmosphere and to value the bonds between employees and their families through these kinds of programs in the future.
