Mr. Torisu, former captain of the JFE East Japan Hardball Team, gave a lecture to the students of Kurume Shoji, his alma mater!

On November 6, Mr. Takashi Torisu of Daiichi Sheet Metal Office gave a lecture to about 230 second-year students of Kurume Commercial High School, his alma mater. The exchange event by the school and the Tokyo Branch of the school's alumni association was held with the aim of interacting with alumni active in the Kanto region, and Mr. Torisu, an alumnus of the school, took the stage to deepen friendship with the students.

Mr. Torisu has been playing baseball for about 20 years since the second grade of elementary school. He was the leading hitter and captain of the team during his college days, and after joining the JFE East Japan Hardball Club, he was selected as the captain in his second year, leading the team to its first victory in the Inter-City Baseball Tournament, among other great accomplishments.

At the exchange meeting, he shared his real-life experience of spending his days immersed in baseball to achieve his dream, and stressed the importance of pursuing one's dreams, saying, "It is important not to close oneself off from one's own possibilities.
To students who were worried about their career paths after graduation, he said, "I chose my career path without any knowledge of universities or adult baseball. Although the result was good, it is important to have an image of your future while you are still young," he advised, citing his own experience. One student asked a pointed question, "What should I do when I hit a wall in pursuit of my dream?
In response, he strongly encouraged them by saying, "If what you want to pursue is what you love, you can challenge yourself until the end.

After the exchange meeting, Mr. Torisu said, "There are things you can only do when you are young, so I want you to give it your all so that you will not regret it later. It was a great opportunity for me to talk with high school students. After retiring from baseball, my work at the first thin board room is a series of new challenges every day. I myself would like to find a new goal and do my best!" He said with a smile.
