National staff training was held!
For three days from October 8 to October 10, the Human Resources Department hosted a "National Staff Training" for national staff working at overseas Group companies. The training was held at the head office and attended by 27 national staff from around the world, including the United States, Canada, China, and Southeast Asia. The objectives of the training were to deepen participants' understanding of their roles as managers and the process of acting as leaders in the JFE Shoji Group, to improve their ability to consider organizational issues and formulate solutions on their own, and to build a personal network among the participants and employees at the headquarters.
The training began with a lecture by the head of the Human Resources Department, followed by "compliance training" by the Legal Department and "company overview and mid-term management plan" by the Corporate Planning Department. During the office tour, participants toured the new office, which was renovated last year. In addition, they learned about the "basics of management strategy" and the "role of a leader" from an outside lecturer. The participants gave presentations on "the necessary elements of a leader, how to exercise leadership, what is important in managing an organization, and what we should work on in the future to realize these elements. On the final day, the participants visited JFE Steel East Japan Works, where they learned about the manufacturing process by actually seeing the commercial products they normally handle.
The participants commented that they were able to have direct conversations with the head office employees, with whom they usually communicate only by e-mail or telephone, and that they were able to proceed more smoothly in their work. It was a meaningful training program.
