Social Contribution Activities] 266 boxes of emergency food (canned food) were donated!
In November 2024, as part of our social contribution activities, we donated 266 boxes of emergency food (canned food), each containing 24 cans, to the authorized NPO "Second Harvest Japan", the authorized NPO "Food Bank OSAKA" and the authorized NPO "Second Harvest Nagoya".
In Japan, while demand for food assistance is increasing, approximately 6.12 million tons of food is wasted each year, which is a social issue. In order to contribute to solving this problem, we will participate in "food bank activities" through a non-profit organization to deliver donated items to those in need.
We have stockpiled long-term storable food for emergency rations for our employees, and by donating them at the timing of replacing the stockpiles, we are providing food support and contributing to the reduction of food loss.
The donated food will be provided to individuals and households in need of food support, such as the needy and disaster victims, through NPOs, and will also be offered to welfare facilities, children's cafeterias, and food pantries (places where people in need of food support can visit and receive food).
The person in charge at the donation site commented with appreciation, "The canned protein source is very valuable and much appreciated.
The J Shoji Group will continue to implement "food bank activities" and other social contribution activities in the future.
