Participated in "WFP Walk the World 2024 Osaka"!

On May 19, our employees including Mr. Kitajima, General Manager of Osaka Branch Office, participated in the "WFP Walk the World 2024 Osaka" held at Expo '70 Commemorative Park in Suita City, Osaka Prefecture. This charity walk is organized by the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to eliminate hunger and poverty in developing countries. 1,773 people participated in this year's event, the highest ever, and 1,354,390 yen was donated to developing countries. This donation is equivalent to school lunches for 45,146 students.

Last year, only two employees, Mr. Kitajima and Mr. Hagiwara, participated in the event, but this year, a total of 15 people, including eight employees and their families, took part.
Unfortunately, it was raining on the day of the event, but with guest Yoshio Itoi, former Hanshin Tigers baseball player, cheering them on, participants were divided into 5 km and 8 km courses and enjoyed nature, including a waterfall through the trees, a field of iris and iris, and a rose garden. The event was also well received by families, as there were places where children could walk all the way to the end without getting bored. Employees who participated in the event commented that the event made them think about taking up walking as a hobby, and that they would definitely participate again next year because they liked the idea of being able to participate with their children.

With the goal of contributing to the local community and making a sustainable difference, the Osaka Branch will continue to be passionate and proactive in addressing social issues.
