On May 18, the "Environmental Beautification Activity Program" was held at Tokyo Metropolitan Kiba Park with the participation of about 30 JFE Shoji Group employees and their families. With the support of the NPO "Forest Lifestyle Institute," this program was held with the aim of protecting the park's scenery and safety by maintaining areas of the park that are difficult to manage.

On the day of the event, under clear skies, the participants were divided into two groups and started work at 10:00 a.m. They worked for about two hours pruning plantings and repairing benches. In the pruning work, branches protruding onto the running course were pruned and their height and width were aligned to ensure the preservation of green infrastructure. In bench repair work, benches with peeling paint were sanded and repainted in an effort to beautify and improve the landscape.

The children who participated in the project worked hard to prune and paint the benches, while having fun along the way. Some employees also brought their pets, and the work was done in a friendly atmosphere from start to finish.

After the activities were over, the participants enjoyed a light meal and deepened exchanges in a friendly atmosphere. As souvenirs, we handed out pound cakes made by students of Tokyo Metropolitan Adachi Special Needs School, with whom we have a close relationship, to the great delight of the participants.

The JFE Shoji Group will continue its efforts to realize a sustainable society in cooperation with local communities.
