We want our employees to develop their skills from a young age and grow into global leaders. We are promoting the creation of systems with this in mind.
Hierarchy-specific training
JFE Shoji has a comprehensive human resources development system that offers a wide range of training programs for all levels of employees, from young employees to management-level employees.
New Employee Training
The training covers the essential manners required to be a member of society, an overview of the company, basic operations important for work, and a tour of the steel mill, processing center, and shipyard where steel is produced, over a period of about 1.5 months.
Pre-promotion training and Post-promotion training
This training is designed to help participants recognize the new role required by the company, acquire the necessary attitude, knowledge and skill base to fulfill the role, and recognize and learn the direction that will lead to future growth based on a review of their own past performance.
New Position Training
This training is designed to nurture the abilities expected of employees according to their positions and roles.
Skills Training
Skills training is a training program that focuses on basic MBA courses to acquire advanced business skills, and JFE Shoji encourages employees to take courses on a hand-picked basis in order to emphasize "employees' willingness to learn on their own," "independence," and "self-reliance.
Some of the training contents are introduced below.
Strategic Thinking Training
This training is aimed at acquiring the skills necessary to read the future, formulate strategies, and execute and realize them, rather than viewing the current situation in a flat plane, in order to make major changes and evolve JFE Shoji Trade's business model.
Basic financial training
Accounting
This training is designed to improve not only the finance and accounting department, but also the entire company's understanding of accounting figures to achieve more accurate decision making at the sales floor level.
Finance
This training is designed to enhance understanding of corporate finance and investment, and to achieve accurate decision-making at the field level, taking into account cash flow and investment effects.
Negotiation Skills Training
This two-day training program is designed to develop the necessary skills in negotiation at work.
Facilitation
Participants will understand how to design a discussion forum and create a flow of discussion in order to effectively resolve issues and build consensus through efficient discussion.
Negotiation
Understand the importance of "value creation" through negotiation and how to do it.
Critical thinking training
Aimed at developing logical thinking skills (problem solving, communication, hypothesis building, etc.) essential for JFE Shoji Personnel in their third year with the company.
