To quickly meet the demands of an increasingly diverse market and highly evolving customer base, JFE Shoji is strengthening its supply chain from raw materials procurement to processing and distribution.
Stable supply of products and quality assurance system
JFE Shoji Trade has established the best processing and sales system by strengthening local sales channels and improving the group's investment in equipment and efficiency. We will constantly improve the level of quality assurance to ensure that our customers are satisfied and satisfied with the quality of our products. In our stainless steel processing centers, both at home and abroad, we are promoting systematization and automation to eliminate human error. As well as preventing human error in the processes from connection to processing, inspection, and delivery, we also improve the awareness of our staff to ensure that they are aware of the importance of quality training, which is based on examples of nonconformities at our group companies in Japan and abroad, as well as at other companies. In addition, JFE Shoji will conduct periodic inspections of domestic and overseas companies belonging to the target groups, and quality assurance checks and submits proposals. If necessary, we will check the progress of continuous improvement to maintain and improve the level of quality assurance.
Measures to increase customer satisfaction
We believe that the demands of our customers make it important for us to offer even higher-level solutions, and that is why we are committed to developing our employee training through skills training and other means. In addition, JFE Shoji has also selected local staff from overseas subsidiaries and overseas offices for intensive training, not only in Japan, but also to increase the satisfaction of overseas customers.

Develop safety and health work
JFE Shoji Trade is committed to eliminating serious industrial accidents at processing centers and other processing networks, with the goal of "preventing serious industrial accidents from occurring in the future".
(1) Control and supervisory personnel conduct on-site inspections, and video inspections using the video recording capabilities of safety cameras and heads, to check all operations for risk or to conduct KY (risk screening) with each employee; (2) To improve the ability to detect and avoid accidents, conduct discussions on similar accidents and risk training; (3) To reduce the risk of contact with equipment being transferred, install safety sensors and other equipment to practice safety and risk prevention. sensor, etc.; 4) work training (e.g. hoisting work training) and awareness of compliance with work standards established through careful and thorough review of work guidelines.
In addition, as the driving force behind these safety activities, a safety manager is assigned to each company in the Group to raise the level of safety and living standards at each company. In order to build a sense of common value for the entire JFE Shoji Group, we hold bi-monthly safety managers' meetings to share knowledge and information related to safety and health. Whenever a work stoppage or injury occurs, the general manager of each company under the JFE Shoji Group is notified by the senior management of the company, and the JFE Shoji Group is committed to working together to develop safety and health management. In addition, the company holds a safety commendation once a year to encourage employees to participate in safety and health activities. Through these measures, JFE Shoji Trade will continue to improve the safety management level of the group as a whole, and will continue to create a safe and comfortable workplace environment.

Measures to support diversified work methods
JFE Shoji will strive to achieve a balance between work and life by reducing work hours through the establishment of three regular workdays per week, prohibiting late-night work after 10:00 p.m., and establishing incentive days for employees to take firewood leave.
From April 2016, we will expand the work hours system, with the core hours set from 11:00 to 14:00, and also have a system for employees to work at home with limited hours, such as for childcare, nursing, etc., and "Challenge Days", in which employees can work at any time without any limitation, and we will implement "Challenge Days", in which employees will have the opportunity to try out new jobs and share the same office space. and "Challenge Days," etc., to support more diversified work styles.
In response to the spread of the new crown disease epidemic, JFE Shoji will expand the number of employees who can work at home to include all employees, and develop a more active system of work hours, such as the "Challenge Days" system, which allows employees to work at home without having to spend time in the office during amortization periods. As well as, in order to implement more effective and work methods, JFE Shoji established a "New Work Methods Discussion Group" to discuss the promotion of paperless work by electronic means and the development of new types of work rooms.
Business reform (J-MUSCLE) activities
JFE Shoji Trade launched its business reform activities in 2008, and in 2023, on the occasion of its 15th anniversary, the name of these activities will be changed to J-MUSCLE (from J-SLIM), and we will continue to promote these activities with a stronger awareness of the need to improve business efficiency and increase added value. At our annual meetings, we report on the results of our various activities to promote higher production rates. In recent years, we have introduced numerical tools to shorten work hours, improve the accuracy of business processes through the use of numerical tools, share information through the use of new and improved methods, and cooperate with partners to create new and improved S/V work methods, among others. In the future, we will not be constrained by traditional beliefs, but will adapt to changes of the times and create a corporate culture that seeks to transform itself from start to finish.
Small group activities to enhance the dynamism of the workplace (J1 activities)
JFE Shoji's domestic companies in Japan are always developing "J1 activities" to improve the way to solve the problems of "safety, quality, production, production, and delivery period" of the manufacturing department, and about 20 groups from each company are represented at the J1 meeting held every year. We report the results of the activities of about 20 teams representing each company and give awards to the best teams. After this, in order to improve the team's leadership and ability to solve problems, JFE Shoji will continue to promote J1 activities, and the results of these activities will be developed among the companies under the group.

Promotion of diversification
JFE Shoji Trade holds multitasking study sessions with management personnel to implement and improve multitasking management. JFE Shoji has also been actively supporting the development of women in the company and has received the "L-star (three stars)" from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare in June this year due to the "excellent implementation of measures to promote the activities of women". As well as, in order to help our employees to continue to work after their life changes, JFE Shoji has been holding meetings to exchange information between employees on maternity leave and to help them to get back on their feet after returning to work.

Re-appointment system
JFE Shoji is aware of the need to create an environment where people over 60 years old with rich experience and talent can work actively, and to create an environment where people can work in a healthy manner. These people can choose from a variety of work styles, including full-time, reduced workdays, and reduced work hours, based on their own lifestyle.
Implementing and improving and taking measures to maximize the ability to promote
JFE Shoji offers training to help people with diverse backgrounds achieve success in their positions and in the environment they work in. International education|Donations from non-western countries
As part of the international contribution activities that began in 2011, JFE Shoji Trade is providing support in the areas of "food," "education," and "health" to children in Brazil and elsewhere. The donations included about 15,000 units of GEISHA products (canned eggplant soup and blue-flowered fish) from Kawasho Foods, study chairs, and uniquely designed notebooks, among others.
Local Contribution|Xiaopu Marasong Enterprise Volunteer Campaign
The "Kasumi Mara-matsu" held by Tsuchiura City and Kasumiura City in Ibaraki Prefecture started in 1991 and is the largest mara-matsu event for citizens in Japan. JFE Shoji Trade Corporation started the Kasumigaura Marathon in 2015 as a part of its local contribution activities.

Social Welfare|Practice sales for students of special needs schools
Our social contribution activities with special support schools began in 2017. Since 2021, JFE Shoji has continued to conduct sales of masked containers at locations provided by the company, with a particular focus on sales of masked containers for practice, in order to help students practice social studies. Students will be responsible for selling their own products and developing their own service work, such as purchasing and selling bank accounts and bags.
Social Welfare|Eifuku Tokyo Metropolitan Eifuku School
Tokyo Metropolitan Eifuku School is a special support school in Tokyo. This is the first school to be established in Tokyo, and it has a high school vocational technical department, which provides education for students with severe intellectual disabilities. The school aims to nurture human resources who can contribute to society, and all students will be able to enter a company after graduation. The Department of Business Technology has 100 students per year, with a total of 300 students per year. Students will read 5 courses such as commercial, building cleaning, logistics, food, welfare, etc., and will have practical learning in the practice room where they will be exposed to simulated work situations and gain professional knowledge and skills. Starting from 2020, we will offer a "Logistics Course" that will focus on the annual production of daily book sealing and packaging, helping students gain distribution and service skills, and supporting the development of socially beneficial activities in their professional education.
